About Women In Turning
The WIT group has eleven active members who attend workshops when they can. During 2025, they met for monthly workshops that included: segmented wig stand tops, finials, peppermills, eccentric spindles, cupcake boxes, Celtic knot spindles, candlesticks, rattles and snowmen.
Our Partnership With Baskin Breast Center
In 2025, the WIT group began the year by giving a wig stand demonstration for the club and asking club members to join them in making them for cancer patients. (January demonstration link) The local hospital foundation partnered with PAW so the wig stands would benefit patients in the Yavapai County community. During 2025, the club contributed about 70 wig stands to the Baskin Breast Center.

What Our Members Say
Joining Women In Turning has been a transformative experience. The support and creativity of this group inspire me every day.
Women in Turning is a great group of friends meeting to share skills and experiences in an incredibly supportive environment!
The women in WIT are a joy to be with. I’ve learned so much and really appreciate the camaraderie.
When I started this group, I didn’t imagine the amount of interest among the women in our club. The friendships developed while learning and practicing skills together have enriched my life. The projects have helped me grow as a woodturner as we teach and learn from each other.
Women In Turning has given me the confidence to tackle more complex projects. The encouragement here is unmatched.
I am a much newer turner than the incredible talented women in this group. It is a great way to learn and improve your skills and the group is very welcoming and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone.
